María Teresa Fidalgo- Azize
creative production director of Sea Dance Documentary (she/her)
Preferred to be simply called Teresa, she is an aspiring poet, film critic, distributor and producer. Her work centers on inward explorations of violent girlhood unafraid of venturing into bereavement’s reign. She is interested in transnational cinema, multilingual literature, and the depiction of subversive femininity within the Latin American context.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Teresa has witnessed first hand the catastrophes of climate change and its devastating effects on the country’s population, ranging from basics: lack of access to electricity and portable water to the large scale: subsequent mass migration. With this in mind, she is passionate to pursue the role of Creative Production Director for Sea Dance’s developing documentary. And on a personal note, she is the mother of her feline masterpiece, Zarina.
